Part of our mission is to educate households on growing food – we have a foodscaping service to provide this support to families.
In the school holidays, we are able to train youngsters (aged 9+) in many aspects of our urban farm operation. We will be doing the following activities:
- Planting seeds
- Transplanting seedlings
- Tending vegetable plants, herbs, flowers
- Harvesting crops for cooking
- Making compost
- Making new garden beds, including converting lawn to raised hügelkultr bed
- And much more
The programme is led by Steve McCarthy, registered teacher. We will be basing the content on the resources from the North American Biodynamic Apprenticeship Programme.
For more information, please get in touch with either Steve or Katrina.
